{Big Boy Room Makeover}

It's all true. Kids grow in the blink of an eye and before you know it, they're off to college. I'm not quite there yet, but I do have a 15 year old and a 4 year old and I feel like I have no idea where the time went. Especially my youngest. I went to sleep and he still needed me. When I woke up, he's a self sufficient human being with opinions and a personality. I love the balance in his small world though. He can rip through his toy room, pulling every single piece of plastic from the organizational bins, leaving most of the carpet covered, but then he'll be the first to tell me "it's not ok" for me to leave my things neatly folded on the stairs to take up later. He's great at cleaning up his toys when he's finished playing though. I call that a win.

We recently moved Cooper into another bedroom and decided to let him pick out his new decor and be a part of the process. We purchased a new "big boy bed" (twin bed) from a local furniture store and I used a comforter I bought in a blue and white stripe from Target a couple of years ago. I chose to keep the color scheme in the classic blue and white he's had since birth that will continue to grow with him.

We made a trip to "Mommy's Happy Place", aka Hobby Lobby, and let him choose his theme. He immediately saw the dinosaur signs and his choice was made. "I want a T-Rex room!". We picked out a few pieces for the walls, adorable dinosaur footprint wall stickers, and dinosaur wall hooks. We were lucky to find these all on sale for 40% off. (YAY Hobby Lobby!)

Here's the final result! I'd say he's pretty happy, and so am I. A cute, new big boy room without breaking the bank!
